Wide Open Whatever WIP Blog- Affirmation Zine

For my final project, I want to focus on my digital illustrations using the Procreate software. This semester has been very therapeutic for me and I feel that I've let myself feel anger and empowerment in a new way. But, with the recent loss of my mother, I just want to make light, positive, art and take a step back from my usual approach to feminism. I want to angle my energies to radical self-acceptance and create a collection of daily affirmations. I would like to mix both hand lettering and illustration to create each of the pages. While I feel confident in my illustration, I want to challenge myself with hand lettering, and I really want to simplify my compositions (because I'm typically a disorganized maximalist). I started my zine and two of the pages but I feel like I might already revisit these and simplify what I have. As a media design major, I want to combine my love for free-flowing illustration while still applying the basics of design to make crisp yet feminine compositions.
